In many ways, this is the same satisfying core experience as the first game. A visual overhaul and some significant changes to combat and dungeon exploration, however, make Moonlighter 2 a bigger, bolder sequel that's worth clocking in for.

The developers didn’t just repeat what worked in the first game; instead, they understood where it could evolve and what elements they should keep. It’s true that a few extra elements are missing, but the final version is ideal for both fans of the original and new explorers.

The sequel is a well-polished release that strengthens the best aspects of the game, from its overall story, roguelike mechanics, and combat, engaging shopkeeping features, and worldbuilding, despite minor technical issues being a slight nuisance.
