Ground Zero Hero is a fantastically fun time that has that addictive gameplay loop that many of these games bring. It’s an experience that I wished lasted a little longer as I ticked everything off within a few sessions, but it really is quality over quantity here. If you’re after a bullet-heaven style title that offers some different synergies and aesthetics, then you’ll absolutely love it. For less than ten quid, it’s well worth the reasonable cost for the return you’ll get. With the fact its Xbox Play Anywhere as well, it’s a game that you can also have on your handheld and won’t take up too much space. If you fancy picking up a copy for yourself on Xbox Series X/S or to add to that Xbox Play Anywhere library, you can purchase HERE. Big thanks to the lads and lasses from Acclaim Inc for the review copy for Xbox Series X/S

It certainly isn't a title aiming to revolutionize the genre, but the few additions and tweaks to the Vampire Survivors-style formula are clever and fun. Ground Zero Hero is visually appealing and incredibly addictive, capable of keeping you glued to the screen for hours thanks to its constant action and nonsensical humor.

Ground Zero Hero is an addictive experience full of zany humor. It takes the Vampire Survivors concept and adds its own twist along plenty of chatoic on-screen action.

that leaves us with a mechanically simple, yet fairly unique bullet heaven title, one carried by interesting cartoony visual humor and a few interesting twists on the genre. Ground Zero Hero doesn’t quite have the depth or variety of the genre’s bests, but for a handful of hours of radioactive fun I can absolutely recommend it to fans of survivors-like games.

Ground Zero Hero is a colourful, chaotic time-sink that respects both short sessions and longer binges. It doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it does enough new to pull in fans of the genre.

Ground Zero Hero carves out its own identity as a wonderfully absurd nuclear wasteland romp. It's something like Vampire Survivors filtered through Fallout, then handed over to The Simpsons for a rewrite. It's rough in a few places, but it's hard not to enjoy your time in this particular corner of the apocalypse.

Ground Zero Hero has taken over my free time as the game I play in spurts here or there. It is just as addictive as Vampire Survivor was when it first dropped but even more so.
